Saudi Arabia Professional League side, Al-Raed have announced that they have completed the signing of Ghana winger Christian Atsu.
The former FC Porto star parted ways with Newcastle United at the end of the 2020/2021 football season where he was forced to play for the U-23 team.
On the back of successful negotiations with his representatives, Al-Raed have managed to secure his services on a two-year contract.
“The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the club finished Mr. Fahd Al-Mutawa, officially today, the procedures for contracting with the Ghanaian player Christian Atsu from Newcastle United.
“Ghanaian Atsu arrives at the team’s camp in Murcia,” the Saudi club announced via Twitter on Saturday afternoon.
Al-Raed becomes the eighth club Christian Atsu has played for since moving abroad. He has experience from playing for Malaga, Everton, as well as Bournemouth.
At Al-Raed, the 29-year-old is keen on hitting top form to ensure a return to the Black Stars ahead of the qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
