The Campaign Team of Ashanti Regional Chairman of New Patriotic Party (NPP) has diffused allegations money exchanged hands in their just-ended regional executives’ election which saw Mr Bernard Antwi Bosiako popularly known as Wontumi emerge winner after keenly contested polls.
NPP held its regional elections in some 15 out of 16 regions across Ghana to elect executives for the party at the regional level from Friday, May 27 to Sunday, May 29, 2022.
Priotr to the election, Pollster Ben Ephson predicted defeat for Chairman Wontumi.
However, the spokesperson for Mr. Bernard Antwi Bosiako’s Campaign Team, Mr. Dennis Kwakwa has taken a swipe at the Pollster for what he described as baseless and unfounded allegations that his boss did not win on merit.
“I’d like to put it on record that, I was the spokesperson. There was no point, we pay money to delegates to vote in a certain direction. Ben Ephson is becoming useless so far as election predictions in the country are concerned. He says ‘A’ today and the next day he say ‘B’. He is inconsistent.
“When your methodology is biased, you end up embarrassing yourself. Ben Ephson should eat a humble pie and apologize to his readers instead of finding ways to save his face. To err is human,’ Mr. Dennis Kwakwa pointed out in an interview monitored.
Chairman Wontumi in his victory speech on Saturday, May 28 after the NPP’s Ashanti region election at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi said “our campaign of breaking the 8 has started from Baba Yara Stadium, NDC cannot stop us.
