Three arrests. Man Killed and dissolved in acid because he had an affair with the daughter-in-law of a clan leader:

He had a relationship with the daughter-in-law of a clan chief and for this he was killed and dissolved in acid in 2013, after being lured into a trap. The carabinieri of the Ros of Naples, coordinated by the Dda of Naples, shed light on a cold case dating back to 2013. A murder committed to “protect” the honor of Giovanni Licciardi, son of the boss Gennaro, who was detained and which today led to three arrests. Salvatore Esposito was lured to the house of one of the three alleged murderers arrested today: he also realized that something terrible was about to happen to him, he also began to sweat profusely (and for this reason he was also made fun of by his captors) but he was unable to get away with it.

With the excuse of going to see the husband of Maria Licciardi (sister of boss Gennaro) who was on the run in Marano di Napoli, the homicidal command deviated the route to go to the area of the Chiaiano quarries, an inaccessible and isolated area, where the murder by gunshots and the destruction of the corpse was consummated. Today’s arrest concerns three alleged affiliates of the Licciardi clan – Paolo Abbatiello, Gianfranco Leva and Raffaele Prota – who are being challenged, together with Giuseppe Simioli, for the role of instigators. According to the investigators, however, it was Carlo Nappi, Crescenzo Polverino, Giuseppe Ruggiero and Alessandro De Luca who materially killed Esposito and destroyed his body. All are in prison but for another murder.

These are – as has been ascertained thanks to interceptions, tailings and pentiti – the same practices of concealment of the corpses by dissolution in acid used by Cosa Nostra in 1984 to make the corpses of Vittorio and Luigi Vastarella disappear on behalf of the boss Lorenzo Nuvoletta. Gennaro Salvi, Gaetano Di Costanzo and Antonio Mauriello. For the murders of those five people, which took place in Marano di Napoli on 19 September 1984 as part of the Camorra war between the Gionta-Nuvoletta and Alfieri-Bardellino underworld families, the superboss Salvatore Riina was definitively sentenced as instigator .
