REOPENED PIOPPA BRIDGE AND NAVICELLO

It reopened for transit this afternoon, Friday 19 May at 2.30 pm, the Pioppa bridge on the provincial road 11 on the Secchia river. On the other hand, the Concordia bridge on the provincial road 8 and the Motta bridge in Cavezzo, on the provincial road 468, are still closed. The Navicello Vecchio bridge in Modena along the branch of the provincial road 255 on the Panaro river has also been open since this morning. Monitoring on the embankments by technicians and volunteers of the Civil Protection continues and that through the detection network connected with the operations room of the Unified Civil Protection Center in Marzaglia.

ROAD SITUATION IN THE MODENA AREA

On the morning of Friday 19 May, on the provincial road 28 in Palagano in the locality of Preda, a subsidence of the road occurred due to the instability of the valley slope, which for now only involves a narrowing of the roadway. Also due to bad weather, along the provincial road 27 in Montese on the border with the Bologna area and in the locality of San Giacomo, landslides created cracks in the roadway, which in any case did not lead to restrictions on transit and the technicians of the province are working to restore the optimal asphalt conditions.

The provincial road 3 Via Giardini alla Fontanina and the provincial road 324 between Riolunato and Montecreto remain closed pending the completion of the technical investigations which will allow us to understand when they can be reopened to traffic. There are still restrictions on transit with alternating one-way streets on the provincial road 31 between Lama Mocogno and Montecreto, on the provincial road 25 between Monteombraro and Zocca, due to the subsidence of a part of the valley slope, on the provincial road 20 in Montegibbio, on the provincial road 28 in locality Mulino del Grillo di Palagano and on the provincial road 33 in Frassineti.

As regards the situation of the bridges, the Navicello Vecchio bridge in Modena along the branch of the provincial road 255 reopened for transit this morning, Friday 19 May, after it had been closed due to the achievement of the guard hydrometric levels of the Panaro river. On the other hand, the provincial bridges over the Secchia river, the Pioppa bridge over the provincial road 11, the Concordia bridge over the provincial road 8 and the Motta bridge in Cavezzo, over the provincial road 468, remain closed.
