A 75-year-old accused of abusing a 9-year-old girl ends up on trial.

The elderly relative who lives in a town on the outskirts of Lecce has been indicted on charges of aggravated sexual assault.

The trial will open on October 4 before the judges in collective composition. The defendant, defended by the lawyer Luigi Covella, will be able to defend himself against the accusations during the trial.

The mother of the minor filed a civil action this morning with the lawyer Alessandra Liliana Tomasi, during the preliminary hearing before the gup Sergio Tosi. The judge accepted the request for trial by prosecutor Erika Masetti.

The investigations started from the complaint of the mother of the minor. The episodes of harassment and groping date back to 2017, when the little girl was just nine years old. Everything allegedly took place in the garden of a house belonging to the defendant.

During the investigations, the protected hearing of the child took place, during the probative incident, at the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office, in the presence of the prosecutor Erika Masetti, owner of the delicate investigation, and the investigating judge Simona Panzera.
