MACERATA – He doesn’t want to be controlled by the police, he runs away and takes out a butcher’s cleaver. Moments of fear yesterday afternoon in Macerata. In the end, everything worked out for the best thanks to the professionalism of the police and carabinieri: a joint action that made it possible to block the man and take him to the police station. Naked, drunk, bitten and clawed at the carabinieri: chaos in the centre, the arrested Nigerian is already

According to what has been possible to reconstruct, a man of African origins was at the train station when he was noticed by a patrol from the Police Headquarters. Officers approached him to check on him. But the man suddenly pulled out the large bladed weapon, tried to hit a policeman, and fled on foot.

At that point the policemen raised the alarm and the searches were launched, in which a patrol from the Carabinieri Company of Macerata also participated. Just the soldiers of the Arma tracked down the foreigner in the area of the Capuchin church. He had the cleaver in his hand and walked on the sidewalk (the motorists who witnessed the scene were incredulous). They tried to calm him down and in the meantime the police arrived at the scene.

At that point the man was stopped in maximum security and taken to the police station for the investigation of the case. In the evening he was arrested for attempted murder. As usual in these cases, the weapon was confiscated.

The second alarm in a few days This is the second alarm in a few days after the pandemonium unleashed last Friday by a Nigerian in Largo Affede, in the historic centre. He was naked and with an amount of alcohol in his body almost five times higher than allowed together with anxiolytics.

He threw a chair against a closed shop shutter and attacked a bar customer. Then, when the carabinieri arrived, he directed the violence towards them: one bit him on the hand, the other wounded him with his nails. “I’ll kill you”, he had shouted before being sedated by the 118 doctors and arrested.
