The famous video game Grand Theft Auto seems to have inspired the fugitive protagonist of the chase that took place in Los Angeles aboard an F-Type
Months later, the American police have still not announced any arrests in relation to the chase which took place at the end of June in Los Angeles and which involved a Jaguar speeding at a speed of almost 200 km/h along the 110 Freeway in Pomona , in California.
And he didn’t announce it because the fugitive escaped with a trick from Grand Theft Auto, the famous video game: he abandoned the car under a bridge where the helicopters chasing it couldn’t see or follow it, and then ran away from the police forces. ‘order.
The escape, the chase, the “trick”
A criminal stole a Jaguar F-Type, starting the escape. According to CBS News, officers at one point stopped the pursuit in the interest of public safety, a strategy adopted by many departments in an attempt to get the driver to slow down.
In this case, the strategy played into the hands of the suspect, who continued to speed up, only putting more distance between himself and the authorities. Although air units were able to track the Jaguar by air, they did not get close to the car, which allowed the driver to slip through Los Angeles traffic without hitting any other cars.
Jaguar under the overpass
When the driver went under a large overpass on the 110 Freeway, he got out of the car, left it running and evaded capture. The Jaguar then collided with a van at very low speed and then continued because it was probably still in gear. When the police approached, he tried to open the door but failed, noticing how the fugitive had fled. Fortunately, it appears that no one was injured. Here is the video of the chase.
