In the Rome metro the chorus of some people with a red flag
A video with a group of people singing in chorus inside the Rome subway: ‘Meloni is a p…’. One of them has a loudspeaker, a red shirt and a rolled up flag. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni posted it on social media asking CGIL leader Maurizio Landini to condemn the behavior of these protesters who seem to be headed to yesterday’s CGIL demonstration.
I don’t know the protagonists of the video shot on the Rome subway. In any case, I condemn without ifs or buts those violent and sexist insults, which are not part of the culture and practice of my organization”. Thus the general secretary of the CGIL, Maurizio Landini. “The CGIL has always been – adds the leader of the Corso Italia union – fights every form of physical and verbal violence everywhere. And it fights to overcome that patriarchal culture which is at the origin of every form of violence towards women.”
“Sexist chants are always a mistake but having said that, yesterday’s demonstration said something else entirely. We condemn sexist chants but the Prime Minister must listen to all the other chants in that square” from work issues to school issues to rights. This was stated by the spokesperson of the women of the Democratic Party, Cecilia D’Elia, who replies to those who ask her about the prime minister’s post in which demonstrators from yesterday’s march can be seen chanting sexist chants against her
