The Fiamme Gialle of the Casarano Tenenza, at the disposal of the Provincial Command of Lecce, carried out a service operation in the sector of the fight against drug dealing.

During the activity, the military found and seized 110 grams of marijuana , cleverly hidden behind the counter, among the bottles of fine spirits, in a pub in Casarano frequented by numerous young people.

The owner of the premises was then referred to the Judicial Authority for possession of a narcotic substance probably intended for trafficking.

The same was reported to the Police Commissioner of Lecce , who issued a provision (lasting 20 days) pursuant to art. 100 of the Tulps (Consolidated Law on Public Safety), which provides for the suspension of the license and the closure of the food and drink supply activity of the commercial establishment involved. The provision was notified in recent days by the department that carried out the seizure.

The other activities

During the summer season, the men of the Casaranese Financial Police reported three people, one of whom was arrested and two were at large, and another eight were reported to the Prefect, seizing narcotic substances including marijuana, hashish and cocaine .

The operation is part of the broader mechanism to combat illicit trafficking developed by the Corps and highlights the constant commitment of Salento in the action to repress drug trafficking and dealing, for the protection of legality and the health of citizens.
