The 28-year-old was hospitalized at Santa Maria di Terni when the 41-year-old arrived with burglary tools: caught

The police had been on their trail for a few days when, on Monday evening, they caught them red-handed while attempting yet another attack on the vending machines, this time inside the Terni hospital where one of the two was hospitalized due to problems. of health. Thus, the two serial burglars of vending machines were arrested, a 41-year-old and a 28-year-old: the first was arrested (after the validation hearing he was released from prison and subjected to the obligation to report to the judicial police), while the second was reported in state of freedom.

They attempt the attack in the hospital. The soldiers, sensing that the two could also strike in the city hospital, were stationed near the hospital when they saw their accomplice arrive, equipped with burglary tools and followed him inside the hospital. Here, on the fifth floor, the ‘patient’ was waiting for him, who had just started working on the dispensers located there when he was blocked by the military together with his companion. The latter, a 41-year-old convicted felon from Terni, was arrested for aggravated theft in conspiracy and possession of objects suitable for burglary, while the other man, 28 years old, also
from Terni, was reported in a state of freedom – for the same cases – so as not to interrupt his recently started therapeutic path.

Serial burglars The 41-year-old, who had already been reported at the beginning of September together with a 35-year-old from Narna following two thefts perpetrated, in the same way, in
damage to as many schools, one in Amelia and the other in Narni Scalo, is held responsible for at least 20 criminal episodes of the same kind perpetrated, between the end of September and the beginning of November, to the detriment of various schools in the capital, for which he was in fact reported while at liberty. The modus operandi, now consolidated, consisted of entering public buildings, without alarm systems, during the evening-night period, through the emergency exits, which can be easily opened from the outside, or by breaking into the windows on the ground floor, and then broke into the vending machines for drinks and snacks, from which both the contents in coins and some foodstuffs were taken away. The spoils are often meager in the face of considerable damage to infrastructures and distribution systems. Investigators believe that the 41-year-old operated, from time to time, with other accomplices, whose identification is continuing. Meanwhile on Tuesday morning, following the hearing to validate the arrest, the 41-year-old was released from prison and subjected to the obligation to report to the judicial police.
