The merciless lens of a cell phone filmed her while, naked, she ran in the freezing morning in Piazza Santa Croce. The video, just a few seconds long, ended up on social media, on the Welcome to Florence Instagram page, which she shares with her over 169 thousand followers all kinds of content about what happens in the city and in the Florentine area.

Alongside images of accidents, of wild boars roaming the city streets, videos and photos are often shared like this morning’s: “Now girl spotted running without clothes in Santa Croce”. The reel received over two thousand reactions, many indignant comments, but not all. The page collects and relaunches videos that reach administrators from followers, also bringing delicate content to social media.

The girl photographed this morning is 25 years old. At 9.50 she arrived in Piazza Santa Croce, she undressed, left her clothes in a corner and started running for two or three minutes. Then the young woman retrieved her clothes, she got dressed and sat on a bench, she always remained alone. This is what the city video surveillance images captured. Someone, who didn’t just send videos on social media, called 112. An ambulance arrived on site and transported the young woman to the hospital at Santa Maria Nuova and entrusted her to the hospital’s team of psychiatrists.
