Fight broke out between two Sri Lankan citizens. The 42-year-old victim is in intensive care in Baggiovara. This time there is an injured person in very serious conditions, with a prognosis reserved for Baggiovara. It happened around 10.30pm on Saturday inside the “Giovane Holden” park in Castelnuovo, at the height of a heated argument that arose due to causes still under investigation between two Sri Lankan citizens living in the province of Modena.

A 42-year-old man collapsed to the ground after being hit by multiple knife blows to the chest. He was immediately rescued by 118 and taken to Baggiovara hospital, where he is hospitalized in life-threatening conditions in intensive care. The 45-year-old attacker , illegal on the national territory, was already stopped on the spot by the police of the Sassuolo Company, who immediately intervened following the report of some eye withnes.

The man had visible blood stains on his clothes and was found in possession of a kitchen knife with a blade of approximately 20 centimetres . The state of flagrancy and the serious circumstantial evidence against the 45-year-old allowed the Carabinieri – coordinated by the Modena Prosecutor’s Office – to proceed immediately with the arrest on charges of  attempted murder . The man was taken to prison in Modena.
