Today, together with my colleagues mayors of the Union of Terre di Castelli, I participated in the traditional Vignola labor festival, during which unions and workers parade the streets of the country every year with tractors and engines. Today’s protest reminds us of how much work is changing and how difficult it is to hold together the needs of the manufacturing world, therefore all workers.

Playing a fundamental role in this game will increasingly be the European Union, which alone has the necessary resources to dictate new rules and lead change.

When I chose to stand for the European elections with Azione I signed a clear commitment to promote the development of a unitary industrial policy, which will be exactly used to make our companies more sustainable, promote employment and raise salaries.

In addition, a stronger Europe will also be credible as an interlocutor in the eyes of the world, imposing on its trading partners the same respect as it demands from its members.
