A question that echoes through eternity!
“Who do people say I am?” is a question Jesus asked his disciples in the Gospel of Matthew (16:13-20) and Mark (8:27-30). He was inquiring about the public’s perception of him.
The disciples replied, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
Then Jesus asked the pivotal question, “But who do you say I am?” Peter responded, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God” (Matthew 16:16).
This conversation highlights the various opinions and beliefs about Jesus’ identity and his true nature as the Son of God.
In our lives, this question still resonates, inviting us to reflect on our beliefs and understanding of who Jesus is to us.
