What began as a promise of opportunity ended in unimaginable tragedy for a young mother in the Ashanti Region.

A woman in her 20s, and mother to one child, was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend in a chilling act of domestic violence at Tanoso Dominase, located in the Atwima Nwabiagya South District.

According to grieving family members, the suspect, who resides in Atwima Koforidua, arrived at their home around 4 a.m. on April 21, 2025, in a taxi.

He reportedly convinced the young woman to leave with him, claiming he had found a bakery job for her and wanted to help her secure a better future.

But her trust was met with betrayal.

Family sources revealed that the victim had recently left the suspect’s home after enduring repeated physical abuse.

She had made it known that she intended to end the relationship for good due to the constant violence she suffered.

Tragically, she never got that chance.

Preliminary investigations indicate that she was viciously attacked with a cutlass. Deep wounds were found on her chest and hands, pointing to a brutal and possibly premeditated assault.

At the scene, police discovered an abandoned vehicle with the ignition keys and mobile phones still inside, suggesting that a confrontation may have taken place inside the car before the fatal attack.

Authorities have since launched a manhunt for the suspect, who is believed to have fled the scene.
