A 28-year-old man, identified as Benjamin Kwabena, also known as Wofa Atta, has been sentenced to 18 years imprisonment for abusing the trust of a family and committing serious offenses against three young siblings at Ahenema Kokoben near Trede.
According to reports, the children—two boys aged 11 and 4, and their twin sister—were targeted after the convict took advantage of a close relationship between his family and the children’s mother, a local charcoal seller.
It is alleged that he gained the children’s trust by frequently visiting their home and offering them bicycle rides, which he later used to lure them to his residence.
The case came to light when the youngest child bravely spoke up, warning her sibling and informing their mother, which led to swift action and his arrest.
This judgment sends a strong message about the importance of protecting children, speaking up, and holding offenders accountable.
Let us continue to look out for one another and create safer communities for our children.
🛑 If you suspect abuse, report it immediately. Silence protects no one.
