If the United States are really concerned about eliminating terrorism and banditry in Nigeria, the U.S. Army should consider setting up a joint military base with the Nigeria Armed Forces in Sambisa Forest, not in Port Harcourt, as seen flying on social media.
With over 66,000 sq/km of landmass, Sambisa is massive enough to host a world-class security outpost. Its vast terrain has long been exploited by insurgents, so turning it into a base of operations would flip the script entirely and make it easier to eliminate them, as most of them come from neighboring countries like Niger, Chad, and Cameroon.
A U.S.-Nigeria Army joint base would strengthen our intelligence, drone surveillance, and rapid-response missions. Making it nearly impossible for bandits or terrorists to find refuge.
If we truly want to end insurgency once and for all, Sambisa should no longer be their hiding place, but their nightmare. 🇳🇬🇺🇸
