HOW CAN. THEY DO SO,

UPDATE: MURDER OF AKWAMUHENE NANA OWUSU KORKOR

From Monday, November 11, 2025, to Tuesday, November 12, 2025, police have arrested four (4) suspects in connection with the murder of Nana Owusu Korkor, the destooled Akwamuhene of Tanoso. The suspects are currently in custody assisting with investigations.

The suspects are:

  1. Issifu Addae, alias Akwasi Addae, aged 48
  2. Stephen Gyamfi, aged 55
  3. Augustine Arhinful, aged 42
  4. Martha Mansah, aged 65

During interrogation, all four suspects denied any involvement in the murder.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased, Nana Owusu Korkor, had been destooled as the Akwamuhene of Tanoso, following which Nana Akyeampong Duodu was installed as his successor. However, the late Nana Owusu Korkor rejected his destoolment and engaged the royal family in a series of court litigations.

It was further established that the deceased was accused of misappropriating five (5) gold bars belonging to the family and of selling family land to a developer after his destoolment.

In response, suspects Issifu, Stephen, Sampson, and Fosu reportedly visited the disputed land to prevent the developer from continuing work and seized his block-molding machine. During the confrontation, they allegedly threatened to “teach the deceased a lesson.”

Meanwhile, Nana Akyeampong Duodu, who viewed the deceased as a major obstacle to his chieftaincy, is suspected to be the mastermind behind the crime. Investigators believe he traveled to the United States as a decoy to establish an alibi.

Police investigations are ongoing, and further developments will be communicated in due course.
