Somanya: 26-Year-Old Fetish Priest Arrested for Allegedly Impregnating 15-Year-Old Girl

Police in Somanya have arrested a 26-year-old fetish priest, Ebenezer Asumah, from Sawer-Sum for allegedly abusing and impregnating a 15-year-old minor. The case was reported to DOVVSU in Akuse after the girl fell ill and was later confirmed pregnant at the Somanya Hospital.

Investigators say the suspect allegedly lured the minor to his home under the pretext of needing assistance and went on to abuse her on multiple occasions. A medical examination revealed she is approximately 11 weeks pregnant.

Asumah reportedly admitted to the encounters during questioning but claimed the minor consented, an assertion invalid under Ghanaian law. He has been charged and put before the court as investigations continue.
