Chiaravalle – Music, dance, historical in-depth meetings and video links with Latin America: these are the peculiarities of the “Palabras de tango” festival, dedicated to Argentine culture and its links with the Italian one. The event will start tomorrow in Chiaravalle and for three days will transform the city of Maria Montessori into a meeting point between two realities that have always been closely connected. In this regard, some of the scheduled appointments will be streamed for the communities of Italians abroad, so as to create a direct link between Italy and Argentina.
The festival will be inaugurated at 10.30, by a meeting of the third classes of the first grade secondary school of the “Rita Levi-Montalcini” and “Maria Montessori” Comprehensive Institutes with Higino Roberto Calamita, former political prisoner in Argentine prisons during the military dictatorship of the 1970s. “Resistere / Resistir” is the title of this lesson, as well as testimony, to be held at the Teatro Valle and in which the “Edo Magnalardo” section of the Anpi will also participate, giving his contribution.
The second appointment, scheduled for Saturday (9.30 pm), will instead be dedicated to the figure of Maria Montessori and the diffusion of her thought in Argentina and in the Latin American continent, in the name of a “new world” of education. The meeting will be held at Casa Montessori Chiaravalle, the birthplace of the scientist three times nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Speeches by scholars of Montessori thought are foreseen, in addition to that of Juan Carlos Paglialunga directly from Bahia Blanca, in Patagonia, as president of FedeMarche, the association promoting the event together with the Chiaravalle Maria Montessori Foundation.
The heart of this first edition of the festival, as well as the penultimate appointment of the 2022-23 theater season promoted by the Municipality of Chiaravalle and Amat, will be the concert show “Historias de tango”, scheduled for Sunday (6 pm). “We will go on a journey into that musical genre which with its melodies, narrations and seductions changed the world, so much so that it was recognized in 2009 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site – explains Giacomo Medici, guest singer of the concert – We will start from tango from the first half of the 1900s to pay homage to those artists who subsequently wrote its history: from the persuasive voice of Carlos Gardel, a world icon of tango, to the revolution represented by Astor Piazzolla, passing through the poetry of Horacio Ferrer and recounting, with notes and words, some of the main moments of a cultural phenomenon still in turmoil”.
The performance will be characterized by the participation of the String Quintet of the G. Rossini Symphony Orchestra of Pesaro, as well as that of the other Italian-Argentine artists who will walk along the paths marked by the tango and the his immortal poetry: Sarita Schena (voice), Massimiliano Pitocco (bandoneón), Massimiliano Caporale (piano), Martin Diaz (guitar), Michele Lobefaro and Gabriella Todisco (dancers). Thanks to the partnership between the “Palabras de Tango” festival and the International Accordion Prize of Castelfidardo it will also be possible, for the audience present, admire in the foyer of the Valle theater the bandoneón that belonged to Astor Piazzolla, currently exhibited in the Accordion Museum of Castelfidardo.
The initiatives of 21 and 22 April will be streamed on the Facebook page of the Municipality of Chiaravalle. For the concert on 23 April, presale is available at the theater box office : full price €10, reduced price €8.
