On Saturday the officers noticed a man leaving the ‘Terranova’ shop in Bolzano with a fanny pack full of clothes. After the arrest, the attack began on the policemen who had to stop him. At the time of the check it emerged that he had various criminal and/or police records and must have already left the national territory

BOLZANO. He left the ”Terranova” shop with a large pouch full of clothes. Then, having noticed the police ‘panther’, he tried to escape but was stopped and at that point he attempted to kick and punch the officers and began to threaten them with death and then headbutted and kicked the car, damaging it and causing abrasions. to the face and hands. On Saturday afternoon, during the usual general prevention and territorial control checks, while passing through the area of via Portici, a police patrol noticed a foreign citizen quickly walking away from the “Terranova” shop in the center of Bolzano , while trying to hide some items of clothing in a large pouch he had with him.

The subject, seeing the police “panther” approaching, quickly tried to change direction, starting to run towards Piazza delle Erbe to escape control. Reached within moments and stopped by the officers, when asked for explanations the man began to push the policemen, threatening them with death and attempting to hit them with kicks and punches in order to escape. Then, increasingly agitated and aggressive, he violently kicked and head-butted the company car, damaging it and causing abrasions to his face and hands. Forcibly transferred to the Largo Palatucci offices, the foreigner was identified. He was a 28-year-old Moroccan citizen with various criminal and/or police records. The stolen and found items of clothing were seized and simultaneously returned to the manager of the business.

Once the story was reconstructed, the Moroccan citizen, who was also found to have failed to comply with the Police Commissioner’s order to leave the national territory, was then arrested for aggravated theft and for violation of the aforementioned provision. At the end of the judicial police proceedings, he was then taken to the prison in Bolzano. In parallel with the judicial process, the Bolzano Police Commissioner Paolo Sartori immediately issued an expulsion decree, so as to be able to repatriate him to his country of origin as soon as possible. “Once again a convicted felon deemed it appropriate to threaten police officers with death and react with violence to the control activities to which he was subjected – highlighted Commissioner Sartori. It is unacceptable that those who represent the State, in enforcing the law, should systematically suffer insults and attacks. For this reason it was decided to proceed with the arrest and removal from our country of those who demonstrated, in a violent manner, that they did not respect its laws and institutions”.
