LEVICO TERME. A near-tragedy occurred around 1.20pm this afternoon in Levico Terme due to a timber trailer overturning along the provincial road to Vetriolo.

A 63-year-old woman and a 4-year-old boy were transported to the hospital. The police are investigating the circumstances.



According to an initial reconstruction, the truck was passing when at a certain point the trailer overturned. The logs that ended up on the road below fell on the front of a car in which the 63-year-old with her child were on board.

The impact was extremely violent but fortunately only involved the front part of the vehicle. The child and the woman suffered light trauma and were transported to hospital.



The Levico firefighters, the local Alta Valsugana police and the medical emergency services were brought to the scene. From the initial findings, according to the information provided by the police, the truck’s load would not have been positioned adequately. Further investigations are underway.
