A very violent head-on that occurred during the night on the Brenner state road with the rescuers racing against time. The intervention of firefighters with hydraulic clamps was also necessary to save another person trapped in the car

A night of anxiety and fear was experienced between the Brenner state road and the Isarco riverbed in Vipiteno, due to a very serious road accident.

It was 2.46am today, Thursday 6 December, and two cars collided near the Sporthotel Zoll. An impact of such violence that a person was stuck in the passenger compartment and the Vipiteno firefighters had to arrive with hydraulic pliers to get him out.

While one team of rescuers assisted this person, the other headed towards the other car involved in the accident, but there was no trace of the driver. The searches were therefore immediate and ended shortly after in an inaccessible area of the Isarco, where this person was found and brought to safety; it remains to be understood why she ended up there after the accident. Her condition immediately appeared to be quite serious.

The White Cross, the emergency doctor, the Alpine Rescue, the aquatic rescuers and the police intervened.
